Club Training 2022

Saturdays 2-4pm

Cost: 5euro sub for members
 

Club training sessions for registered club members will commence on Saturday April 9th and run until the end of September 2022.

These training sessions are for club members only. 

Open days and beginner courses will run at different times and will be announced on this page.

River Safety & Rescue 1
Junior Members
Coming soon - June 2022 (TBC)

This course is for current junior members who have attained their level 2 kayak skills and want to progress to level 3 river skills. It is also aimed at those members who want to refresh their rescue skills. The RSR 1 course enables participants to gain an understanding of river safety & rescue skills necessary for whitewater kayaking. On completion of this training, participants will receive a RSR1 award from Canoeing Ireland.

Level 1 Kayak Skills
Saturday June 4th 12-4pm
Cabra Kayak Club - Lock 6 Royal Canal
Cost: Adult 130euro, Child (Under 18) 110euro
The fee includes:
Level 1 Training Course
Membership to Cabra Kayak Club
Membership to Canoeing Ireland
Equipment hire
Insurance
Access to club equipment and trainings/ events

This course is for people who want to join our club and haven't previously completed any kayak training that's certified by Canoeing Ireland. The fee for this course includes membership to the club until 31st Dec 2022.

 

You will be provided with a kayak, paddle, wetsuit, helmet and buoyancy aid. If you have your own wetsuit, please bring it. 

 

What to bring: Old shoes you can wear in the water, towel, swim wear, football jersey or thermal top (not cotton), water and a smile.
